Mark hails from the west suburbs of Chicago, IL, and as a kid growing up in the Chicago area in the 90's, it makes sense that he would be a diehard Michael Jordan – Chicago Bulls fan. Although Mark wanted to be an architect as a kid and throughout high school, he decided to study mathematics education at Taylor University in Upland, IN which is where his Hoosier roots began.
Upon graduation, Mark spent seven years teaching mathematics in the United States and overseas in The Middle East in the tiny country of Qatar. During his time as a teacher, Mark met his wife, Kristin (a native Hoosier) who also was a teacher, and she is now a full-time stay-at-home-mom who helps raise their two kids, Madelyn and Samuel. After moving back from what Mark and Kristin call “The Sandbox,” they ended up settling down in Noblesville, IN. During Mark's time teaching in Noblesville Schools in 2016, he began exploring other careers that would leverage his passion for educating others. During his search, Mark reconnected with a friend from college who was a financial advisor after seeing a Facebook post that read, “I PASSED”. Curious as to what Mark's friend was referencing, he decided to reconnect and engage in conversation about changing careers. After learning the process to become a financial advisor and while recognizing the need for educating others on financial planning strategies that he himself received from his college friend, Mark decided to leave the traditional classroom setting and enter into the Financial Services Industry in 2016. He is currenlty a Financial Professional with the Mid America Branch of Equitable Advisors.
Mark credits his time as a teacher for solidifying a lifelong passion of his to educate others on a myriad of topics, whether it be financial strategies, playing board/card games, how to snowboard (Mark's Winter jam activity!) or why Michael Jordan is the GOAT. Mark's passion for educating his “Financial Family:” with Equitable Advisors can easily be traced back to his seven-year career as a mathematics teacher. While my content is different along with my clientele, my desire to educate and serve others remains the same.
When I'm not at the office or in meetings with my financial family, you will find me running, snowboarding, reading, building puzzles, playing games and/or watching the Chicago Cubs. I also enjoy serving at my church in multiple roles with my wife, Kristin. Kristin is a 5th grade teacher at Traders Point Christian Academy. Kristin and I met when I was a teacher, which is another reason why I am thankful for my time as an educator.
